Museum Guide Volunteer
About this role:
This opportunity would suit a person looking to gain experience and help develop their career within the museum and heritage sector. It will also suit a retired person looking for a new interest and wanting to meet new people.
Key responsibilities:

Providing a warm, friendly and informal welcome to visitors

Engaging visitors in the displays and stories the Museum tells

Supporting visitors in getting the most from their visit by answering visitor queries and providing high-quality customer service
Commitment:

We are looking for people who can regularly volunteer, ideally for just a morning or afternoon each week. The Museum is open five days a week from Easter through to October, and there are two shifts available each day; 11am until 1.30pm and 1.15pm until 4.00pm. During the winter months the museum is open weekends only

Training will be provided prior to starting
Requirements:

Driving license

Over 18+ years old

Interested in / a willingness to learn about museums, heritage and local history

Friendly, engaging, and approachable

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Volunteers will be able to claim reimbursement for travel.
