STEM Summer Workshops

Foxton Canal Museum is the boiler house that operated the boat lift at Foxton Locks. The lift used coal power to move the boats up a 75ft incline. The Steam Boat challenge will link a fun activity to the history of the site and explore some STEM concepts.
When: Wednesday mornings
Time: 09.30 - 10.30 am
Age: 7 - 11 (accompanied with an adult)
Cost: £3.00 per child

All materials will be provided. Please come prepared to do a craft activity.

The sessions are aimed at aged 7 and above because of the nature of the equipment that will be used. Younger siblings are welcome but must be supervised at all times in the museum and we reccomend they do not use the equipment.

The museum will be closed during these activities and reopen to the public from 11am. You are welcome to stay and have a look round.

No refreshments provided. There is a cafe and shop at the top and bottom lock.

All children who participate will take home a gift and get a prize for the winning design.
Note: There are no toilets in the museum, the nearest available facilities are in the bottom car park.
